Household waste, if not collected, can be dropped off at council refuse stations.

Christchurch refuse stations
Christchurch has three EcoDepots leaving Ecan's website that operate 7 days a week

Banks Peninsula refuse stations
Banks Peninsula has two refuse stations and numerous waste drop-off points. leaving Ecan's website

Selwyn refuse stations

Waimakariri refuse stations
Waimakariri has two refuse stations in Southbrook (Rangiora)  leaving Ecan's website and in Oxford. leaving Ecan's website

Timaru refuse stations
Waste disposal facilities are provided in Geraldine, Pleasant Point, Temuka and Timaru. Phone 03 687 7200

Mackenzie refuse stations
Mackenzie District Council has three Resource Recovery Parks (RRPs) leaving Ecan's website in Twizel, Lake Tekapo and Fairlie.

Kaikoura
Kaikoura has one refuse station at Scarborough St. leaving Ecan's website

Ashburton
The Ashburton District Council has two Resource Recovery Parks in Ashburton and Rakaia, a manned drop-off facility in Methven and unmanned recycling drop-off points in Methven, Willowby, Mt Somers and Mayfield. Waitaki refuse stations:
There is a Resource Recovery Park in Oamaru and transfer stations in Kurow, Omarama and Otematata. Check the Waitaki District Council website leaving Ecan's website to check what can be dropped off where.

Hurunui refuse stations:
