Subject: Proposed Change No. 1 to the Canterbury Regional Policy Statement - AgResearch/Crop and Food Evidence
Importance: High
Dear Sir/Madam

I am preparing combined evidence on behalf of my clients AgResearch and Plant and Food (known as Crop and Food when the submissions were lodged). Crop and Food merged with HortResearch in December 2008 to create the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food (Plant and Food). As a result of the recent merger, Plant and Food have asked whether it would be possible to have a 1 week extension so that they can provide an adequate description of their activities, the extent of property holdings throughout the Canterbury Region and on a national basis, and total number of employees (as they are still collating this data). I consider this information would be extremely useful to include in the evidence to assist the Hearings Committee with understanding the national and regional significance of Plant and Food (in addition to similar information provided for AgResearch). I note that my clients are not scheduled for a Hearing until 24/25 August.

Please come back to me as soon as possible to confirm whether or not it is possible to have a 1 week extension for AgResearch and Plant and Food in terms of submitting evidence.

Regards - Graeme
